Karaoke Singing – Are you serious?

Are you serious about Karaoke singing?

Many singers have discovered the joys of karaoke singing over the past few years and karaoke singing has grown beyond simple “goofing off” to a serious competitive environment.  Though, it’s mostly for fun and often under the influence of alcohol, many establishments have regular karaoke contests as a means to highlight local talent.

DON’T MAKE A FOOL OF YOURSELF when you Sing Karaoke.

I know of a guy on the coast who’s entire life revolves around karaoke and he drives up and down the coast on a regular circuit to sing at all the karaoke venues…  He’s a good singer and EVERYONE on the coast knows him… so, any guesses about whether he wins a karaoke contest?

Tips for karaoke singing

  1. Have FUN! – Even if your competing, this is a relaxed “fun” crowd and the judges are looking for a great performance based on the venue.  That is, they’re not judging you like you were singing an opera.
  2. Nail your entrance! The single biggest thing to kill your karaoke performance is to miss an entrance.  you gotta practice this! Enough said.
  3. Sing in YOUR KEY! Another big problem is that karaoke songs come in a variety of keys.  If you don’t know the key for the song you’re singing, you’re taking a BIG chance!  If you get the Singing Success program, you won’t have troubles with this because you’ll add an octave to your vocal range.
  4. Get Singing Success – this program will improve your voice better than anything else on the market.  Never again be embarrassed when you get up to sing.

Hope these singing tips are helpful and you win your next karaoke contest!  Come back and drop me a note and let me know how you did! :)

How to Increase Your Vocal Range

Friday, November 7th, 2008

The process for increasing your vocal range is simple and straight-forward, though requires some daily investment and upkeep, just like hitting the gym to reign in those thighs or keep a tight six-pack.

The exercises for increasing range are much like working out at the gym.  You gradually increase your range by pushing (in a soft way) yourself a little further each day.  If you go to fast, you can hurt your vocal chords, so don’t do that!

So, the idea is to use vocal exercises or voice scales and gradually sing them higher and higher.  The same is partially true for lower notes, but that’s another subject.  It’s not often that folks seek a lower range – most singers want to improve their high end (okay, you Basses – I know you’re out there and want to be able to sustain a low C, but you’re pretty rare and moving the lower range is a bit more difficult).

The other thing to keep in mind is that you must use a “soft” approach while trying to increase your range and this is typically best done using lip trills and tongue trills.

You can do this on your own, without buying a product.  However, you’ll need to be very diligent and it’s a bit of effort.

There’s another way – buy a great program that has all the tips and techniques worked out in an easy “sing along” format.

The quickest, most efficient road to increasing your vocal range is to get Singing Success.
